Kids Korner is designed for Club members ages 6 to 9 years.old Its purpose is to encourage young members to learn a hands-on life experience in a fun way. Participants have a chance to show their abilities in games, riddles, puzzles, show-and-tell, tick-tack-toe, musical chairs, hula hoop, and board games.
Kid Cooks: Kid Cooks is participated by both boys and girls. This program's purpose is to teach the importance of food nutrition and its effects on the body. It also teaches the basics of cooking and baking and introduces them to the technique of substituting ingredients without jeopardizing the quality and flavor of the food. Eating in moderation is highly emphasized in this program. Breakfast & dinner menus, in additon to desserts will be introduced to the participating members. A fee of $1.00 per session is required to be in Kid Cooks. Kid Cooks is offered in three 8 week sessions; fall, winter and spring. Mondays at 4-5:30pm during scheduled program time.
Friendship Club introduces Polynesian dance (hula). Polynesian dancing is a form of expression of fellings, grace, and ability to tell stories thru hands and body movements. Thus, Polynesian dance helps the young participants understand an island culture which is different from their own. Tahitian & Hawaiian dances are taught and the dance groups are very enthusiastic and eager to learn additional dance. |
