Teen Programs
The Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo offer's many unique opportunities for teenagers to come to the club and participate in special events, activities and clubs designed specifically for teenagers. Teenagers enjoy their own dedicated space where they can do homework, play games, watch a movie, or just hang out with their friends. Teenagers also get their own time periods for teen only gym and technology center usage.
College Bound: Come and try to beat your fellow school mates as they try to race to the finish of college bound. For every homework assignment, that is done during college bound, or every "A” paper you will be given a point. The person with the most points gets to go on that given month’s field trip free. College bound is done Monday-Thursday from 4:00-4:30 PM.
Teen Art: Every Monday the Teens are given the opportunity to participate in Teen Art. Teen Art runs from 5-6 PM. Teens will learn new art techniques and have the opportunity to express themselves in a different way.
Keystone: This leadership development program is for teens between the ages of 14-18. Teens do community service, and different events in six core areas of Keystone. Teens work toward their big goal of going to the national Keystone conference where they will meet and interact with thousands of teens from Boys & Girls around the world. This year’s conference is in Minneapolis. Keystone Meetings are on Tuesdays.
Money Matters: This fun-filled program will show teens the importance of many and how to manage it. Money matters is on Tuesdays.
SMART Moves: This teen program is designed to teach teens about the drugs, alcohol and relationships. SMART Moves meetings will be held on Wednesdays, Parent/Guardian permission is required for teens to participate in this program.
Monthly Potlucks: Once a month the teens will come together and enjoy a potluck on the Teen Center’s back patio. All teens are encouraged to bring food, and come enjoy the fun. Potlucks will be held once a month on a Friday.
STOMP: Once a month the Club opens it’s door’s to the Middle School students of the Pleasant Valley School District/Somis and Private Schools in Camarillo. Come join in on the fun, food, Jolly Jumps, games, dancing, and music with our DJ’S from Q104.7. Only the First 650 kids get in, must have a valid school I.D. to get in.
Teen Night: One Friday a month the Boys & girls Club will open until 10:30 PM. Teens will have the opportunity to play in a 3X3 basketball tournament, watch a newly released movie, and hang out with fellow club members, and participate in Teen Cooks. Teens will have the opportunity to cook dinner for their fellow club members and have the club all to themselves.
