WHAT DOES “OPEN DOOR POLICY” MEAN? / HOW DO YOU KEEP FROM STRANGERS TAKING A CHILD?
The Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo is dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming environment for members. However, because we are not a custodial care agency, we do not have the right or responsibility to keep a child at the Club, and do not assume responsibility for members when they leave the Club. Children will be strongly encouraged to stay inside the program areas where there is supervision, but it is the responsibility of the parent to instruct the child as to whether or not they are allowed to leave. We request that parents provide written permission for their child to check themselves out of the Club. Adults cannot pass the registration counter. If they do enter the Club, they must sign in and wear a visitor badge. Our staff are extremely knowledgeable about who our parents are and who is a stranger.
MY CHILD’S IPOD WAS STOLEN, WHAT WILL YOU DO ABOUT IT?
The Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please do not bring valuable items to the Club including large sums of money, iPods, cell phones, jewelery, CD’s, DVD’s, portable CD/DVD players, Gameboys, or expensive electronics. Also, please remember to securely lock your bicycles.
