March 12, 2020

Dear families, friends, and supporters,

Because the Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo is deeply committed to maintaining the health and safety of the youth and community we serve, we have been closely monitoring the very fluid public health situation regarding the COVID-19 (Corona) virus. As a result, after careful discussions with our board, local school districts and Ventura County officials, we will be closing the Club for ALL afterschool programming and ALL facility usage by community partners and renters, effective Saturday March 14, 2020.

We take the role we play in youth development very seriously, as well as the vital role we play supporting our schools and working families, and we do not take this decision lightly. We know how important our services are to you, and we understand the added strain this may cause. However, this pandemic is an unprecedented crisis, with much uncertainty, so safety must remain our top priority.

We will continue to examine and evaluate the situation day by day, to determine when it is appropriate to reopen the Club. Meanwhile, I thank you for your patience and understanding as we work together during this challenging time. Please continue to monitor this website and our Facebook page for updates. As always, I remain available for your questions at 805-482-8113 Ext. 301 or roberto@bgccam.org. Our community is strong and resilient, and we will get through this crisis together.

Sincerely,

Roberto Martinez, CEO
